MIR Dental Hospital Group, a South Korean company, established its first international presence in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and offers the country its cutting-edge dental healthcare system.
As a part of ongoing efforts to increase foreign direct investment into Sabah, the State Government actively promotes medical tourism, according to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, who officiated the Korea-based dental clinic. He continued that this is also consistent with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan.
Dr. Joachim also congratulated Professor Dr. Tan Kai Seng, the Managing Director and Principle of the MIR Malaysia Dental Group, on the launch of the MIR Dental Clinic, the group's first international franchise in Malaysia.

“I was told that this clinic uses an innovative dental healthcare system from Korea and offers digitalized dental care,” he claimed.
With the ultimate aim of reshaping and redefining the patient experience during any dental treatment, MIR Dental Hospital Group has invested a huge sum of money to bring in a top-notch dental healthcare system and equipment. The dental clinic ensures that each of its dental services is properly performed in line with appropriate SOP, meets international standards, and is affordable.
The MIR Dental Clinic in Malaysia provides the most extensive and complete dental care. Treatment options offered by the clinic include full-mouth digital implants (a painless, minimally invasive laser procedure); laser-assisted periodontal therapy; full-mouth orthodontics; crown restoration; zirconium root canal therapy; past crown removal; calculus removal; tooth extraction; computer-made dentures; and pediatric (dental care for children) and geriatric (elderly) dentistry.
Patients have given the dental clinic favorable feedback ever since it started. Chester Timothy, a patient, wrote a very recent and fresh review post that stated, “Very professional and experienced doctor. The treatment process went well. Super friendly and supporting staff. Nice and comfy environment. Lots of parking spaces inside the property as well. Superb experience. Highly Recommended!”
Over 100 more guests, including those from Singapore, Taiwan, and Korea, attended the inauguration ceremony.
Additionally present were Ginger Phoong, an assemblyman from Luyang, Tan Lee Fatt, an assemblyman from Likas, Datuk Dr. Roland Chia, political secretary to the chief minister of Sabah, Dr. Park, chairman of the MegaGen Global Group, and Joo Joong-Chun, general consulate of the Republic of Korea in Sabah and Sarawak.
The country has now taken a step closer to the international stage with the arrival of the very first foreign franchise, and this is a milestone for moving forward.
